Well, dear reader, much has happened since then. The unknown has blended with the known, and most importantly, AsiaWheeling has\u00a0reconvened\u00a0and is preparing for re-entry.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"AsiaWheeling Scans the Horizon\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/SLIDES.jpeg\" alt=\"AsiaWheeling Scans the Horizon\" width=\"760\" height=\"570\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">Yes, much has\u00a0occurred.<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align:justify\">\n<li>Scott has returned to the US<\/li>\n<li>AsiaWheeling.com has been redesigned (please let us know what you think in the comments)<\/li>\n<li>the 2008 content has been digitally remastered<\/li>\n<li>we have a <a href=\"\/?page_id=366\" rel=\"noopener\">new gallery<\/a><\/li>\n<li>we&#8217;ve formed a number of <a href=\"\/?page_id=188\" rel=\"noopener\">valuable partnerships<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"\/?page_id=188\" rel=\"noopener\"><\/a>we&#8217;ve hammered out <a href=\"\/?page_id=116\" rel=\"noopener\">the new itinerary<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"\/?page_id=188\" rel=\"noopener\"><\/a>the new and improved <a href=\"\/?page_id=9\" rel=\"noopener\">AsiaWheeling Board of High and Esteemed Advisors<\/a> is gathered<\/li>\n<li>launch of the <a href=\"\/?page_id=143\" rel=\"noopener\">AsiaWheeling Executive Development Program<\/a><\/li>\n<li>and finally, I am pleased to announce, the first ticket of AsiaWheeling 2010 has been purchased, from San Francisco California to Jakarta Indonesia, setting our departure date quite firmly at Jan. 4th in the year of our lord, Barack Obama, two thousand and ten.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">The planning began not so much less than a year ago now, with my visit to Scott in Tokyo and the\u00a0resurrection\u00a0of the AsiaWheeling Location Breakdown and Analysis division.\u00a0We established a number of useful metrics to plan the trip, for instance the AsiaWheeling Time-to-Visit Index. For the AWTVI, data for each\u00a0region\u00a0being considered was piped into an\u00a0algorithm\u00a0which assigned each a numeric value indicating it&#8217;s fit to a set of criteria, including: temperature, precipitation, and sunshine for a given month. An example of the output is shown below.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center\"><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/Screen-shot-2009-11-24-at-Tue.-Nov-24-9.25-PM-1.png\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Climate Modeling Output\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/Screen-shot-2009-11-24-at-Tue.-Nov-24-9.25-PM-1.png\" alt=\"AsiaWheeling Climate Modeling Output\" width=\"625\" height=\"283\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">In addition, we have established budgeting tools to calculate our\u00a0expenditure\u00a0in each\u00a0country, sustained an\u00a0intensive\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.vimeo.com\/7280323\" rel=\"noopener\">cross-training<\/a> and developed the AsiaWheeling Danger-Voltage Blacklist, which contains a constantly updated list of locations which we at this point deem un-wheelable due to war, natural disaster, or risk of exposure to explosive or\u00a0poisonous\u00a0material.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"AsiaWheeling is Hard Core\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/SLIDES-1.jpeg\" alt=\"AsiaWheeling is Hard Core\" width=\"760\" height=\"570\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">While not hard at work planning the trip, Scott and I have found the time to do a little <a href=\"\/?page_id=366\" rel=\"noopener\">America Wheeling<\/a>, which culminated in a road trip from Iowa to California, through the southwestern United States. The southwest is of particular interest to AsiaWheeling not only because it offers some of the best wheeling in America, but because an opened bag of\u00a0potato\u00a0crisps has been known to last for <em>months<\/em> without going stale.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Emerald Hills Mobile Offices\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/IMG_4664.JPG\" alt=\"Emerald Hills Mobile Offices\" width=\"760\" height=\"570\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">Now we toil comfortably in our luxurious offices, compliments of the fine folks <a href=\"http:\/\/www.declarity.com\/\" rel=\"noopener\">deClarity<\/a>, continuing to research locations for the itinerary and battling the logistical jungles and\u00a0bureaucratic\u00a0swamps of international tour planning.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It certainly has been some time hasn&#8217;t it?
